Evolution of study plans in the Dentistry career 1976 - 2020

Introduction: the Dentistry program, through the continuous improvement of its curricula, aims to shape professionals with sufficient knowledge to become successful, trustworthy, and responsible citizens.
Objective: to analyze the evolution of curricula A, B, C, and D in the Dentistry program.
Methods: Bibliographic review. Numerous articles related to the subject were examined, of which eleven were used.
Development: in the Dentistry program, none of the curricula have discarded the potentialities of the previous ones; instead, they preserve them and only add what is necessary to increase their effectiveness and acceptance.
Conclusions: the continuous evolution of society leads to the successive development of Cuban Higher Education. The curricular changes made in the study plans are intended to respond to the specific needs of the population.
