Nursing interventions in the emotional sphere of patients from 40 to 50 years old with prostatitis. Ambato General Hospital IESS

Introduction: the role of the nurse is fundamental in the work with the patient, especially in the emotional sphere, since she supervises the treatment, takes advantage of the moments of attention to give clear answers, adjusts her intervention to the rhythm and needs of the person.
Objective: to design a nursing intervention in the emotional sphere of patients between 40 and 50 years old with prostatitis. Ambato General Hospital IESS.
Methods: observational, descriptive and cross-sectional research, in this quantitative way, based on a survey whose questions have multiple options and thus meet the intended objective. The study was carried out between January and March 2023. A survey-based technique was used to collect the information.
Results: only 17 % of nurses are present to offer emotional support to their patients; 52 % of them are able to generate a bond of trust. While 100 % are outstanding in providing education around the treatment of the disease. It should be noted that 56 % are not aware of nursing care related to the emotional sphere; in this instance, 100 % consider it pertinent to design a nursing intervention in the emotional sphere for all patients with prostatitis.
Conclusions: in hospitals, the need to emphasize a holistic view of health care is increasingly emphasized, hence the importance of nurses providing emotional care to patients with prostatitis.
