Abstract

Digital rectal examination is part of the physical examination, however, its use has decreased in recent has been decreasing in recent times. It is a skill to be developed by undergraduate students as part of the professional model. A description of the anatomy is available at a description of the anatomy of the rectum; the main indications and contraindications of rectal indications and contraindications of digital rectal examination, as well as a description of the exam illustrated with photographs taken during the examination. the possible complications and the care required by the patient after the examination.
